CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS Palm Sunday – 28th March 2021
Parishioners are requested to take one blessed palm per person so that others also get the chance to receive the same. Those parishioners who are attending mass more than once during Palm Week, are requested to take the blessed palm only once.
The banner for the Holy Week is displayed in the Church Compound and posted on our parish website. Flyers for the Holy Week services are available. Kindly take one each and stick it on your wall at home for reference till Easter Sunday.
Collections during the Holy Week will be utilized as follows: Good Friday collection is for Holy Land. The collections during the other days of the Holy Week will go towards supporting various projects of our Vicariate.
Parishioners are reminded to bring back the Lenten Sacrifice envelopes. Those who have not yet taken the envelopes are requested to take one and return it at the earliest.
We are glad to inform you that the results of the various Golden Jubilee competitions held have been finalized and the names of the winners will be put up on the notice board as well as on the church website after Easter. We thank all the participants and congratulate all the winners.
When you are seated in the middle of the church and the halls for services, kindly ensure that you follow others as they stand up and kneel down in order not to block the vision of others behind you.
Good Friday is the day of fasting and abstinence.
During Holy Week, all the other activities in the church will be canceled in order to focus our attention only on the Passion, Death and Resurrection of the Lord.
Except for those faithful who will be present in the church for the celebration of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil services, all the others are encouraged to participate in the foresaid services celebrated by Bishop Paul which will be live-streamed from the website of St. Joseph’s Cathedral.
GUIDELINES PROVIDED BY SHARJAH RULER’S OFFICE FOR THE HOLY WEEK SERVICES:
