Revised guidelines from Sharjah Ruler’s Office for Church services – dated 09th June 2022
After the assessment of the current situation as per the directives of the Preventive and Security Department, Sharjah Ruler’s Office has given the below revised guidelines for Church services which must be followed with immediate effect:
Wearing of masks and maintaining 1-meter social distancing by all those attending the Church services is mandatory and the volunteers should be instructed to strictly follow this. Anyone not following these guidelines should not be allowed to attend the services.
Entry should be strictly restricted to children below 6 years. The Church is responsible to ensure that it is strictly enforced. We have noticed children below 6 years and even small babies being allowed only in St. Michael’s Catholic Church and not other Churches, which should be stopped with immediate effect.
Worshipers should disperse immediately after the services and everyone attending the Church should be strictly instructed that no one should remain in the compound or on the road after the service.
Regular announcements should be made that those having flu symptoms (fever, cold and cough) should not visit the Church and if anyone comes to the Church with such symptoms will be sent back either while entering the Church or during the service.
The Parish Priest is duly responsible in ensuring that the above are strictly followed and fully complied with and all precautionary measures are taken to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of all the faithful attending the Church services at all times.
